Bodie Hodges Boathouse Dec 2019

Smallman & Son support various charities and groups in the local area of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Since 2017, we have worked with the Bodie Hodges Foundation. This is a charity devoted to raising awareness of organ donation and helping to support bereaved families who have lost a child. The charity has a boathouse in which bereaved families can spend time together in a peaceful and tranquil place. We helped to fund their treasured memory bags – a project aimed at supporting siblings through grief.

In December 2019, we hosted an event at the Bodie Hodges boat house in which we invited local businesses and partners to complete a tour of the boathouse and hear about the charity’s inspirational work. After a light lunch, we enjoyed some dry slope skiing next to the lake. This is the second time that we have hosted this event and it has worked well to raise awareness of the charity. It has led to some local businesses supporting the Bodie Hodges Foundation, such as making it their charity of the year.

We look forward to continuing to work with the Bodie Hodges Foundation in 2020.
