Fun For Your Money – Leicester’s 2016 Alternative Business Awards
As headline sponsor for this year’s Leicester’s inaugural 2016 Alternative Business Awards, our Syston-based team at Smallman & Son is set for a great night out for charity on Thursday 4 February.
Hosted by Irish-Iranian stand-up comedian Patrick Monahan and winner of ITV’s “Show Me The Funny”, the first 2016 Leicester Mercury Alternative Business Awards evening already promises to be one to bring us all a smile.
The finalists have just been announced by the Leicester Mercury and include David Pochin from plumbers’ merchants Pochin, in the ‘Culture Vulture’ category. And check out some of these amazing prizes to be won on the night; flights over Leicester city provided by Pedigree Filbert, two corporate memberships for Curve and a box at Leicester Racecourse.
We’re delighted that Smallman & Son is joining friends and colleagues in the Leicester’s business community this year to celebrate 13 award categories – with a difference! If you haven’t got your tickets yet – click here.
On a slightly more serious note, the awards are actually about raising valuable funds for three local charities – Lord’s Taverner’s, Hope for Cancer and Big Difference Company.
As we all know, the generosity and support of Leicester’s business community makes a massive impact on many local charities. Our own Smallman & Son Foundation was started to support projects for children and young people in and around our base in Syston and in areas close to construction and refurbishment projects we’re working on.
Smallman & Son was founded by Robert and Mark Smallman and provides building and refurbishment services nationwide to a client list in the private and public sector, including British Gypsum, Serco, Farmer and Carlisle, the NHS, Uppingham and Loughborough Endowed Schools and the Ministry of Justice.
