Bodie Hodges Foundation

“We have been working with Smallman and Son since 2017 and their support has had a significant impact on our growth.  Initially they sponsored our ‘With Love’ Project which provides families with a keepsake made from their child’s clothing.  In 2018 they were an early advocate of a new project that was launched called Bodie’s Treasured Memory Bags. This project provides grief resources that support children aged 3-18 following the death of their brother or sister. Their support enabled us to pilot the scheme which has now been successfully implemented on a national scale. Smallman & Son have also helped us expanded our corporate network through introductions and support with networking.  They share our values and as a family run business they give a lot back to support the work of charities in Leicester.   We love working alongside them in our mission to support families bereaved of a child and raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.”

Bodie Hodges Foundation

We support the Bodie Hodges Foundation; a local charity that supports families bereaved of a child of any age. They have a boathouse set next to a tranquil lake to provide a safe place for families to stay for a week so to spend quality time together. Families are not charged for their stay. The foundation also promotes organ donation in schools and workplaces; they encourage people to start the conversation about organ donation.

We have helped the foundation with two projects; Bodie’s With Love Project, which offers families who stay in the boathouse the opportunity to have their own keepsake made from their child’s clothing, and Bodie’s Treasured Memory Bags, which provides grief resources free-of-charge to families to support sibling grief.

In December 2018, we organised a networking event to raise awareness amongst the Leicester business community of the inspirational work that this foundation does. This event was hosted at the boathouse; we tried out the dry slope skiing on the lakes. We also attend the Bodie Hodges Sports Dinner every year.

We are proud to support the Bodie Hodges Foundation; it is very close to our heart as a family business.
